Purple Academy of Culture & Creativity (hereinafter referred to as the think tank) is the first batch of provincial key high-end think tank jointly built by the propaganda department of the Jiangsu Provincial Party Committee and Nanjing Arts Institute, which was officially established in Nanjing on March 23, 2016. Xu Ning, vice minister of the provincial party committee propaganda department, served as chairman, Li Xiangmin, vice president of the Nanjing Arts Institute, served as executive chairman, president and chief expert, and leaders of relevant provincial departments and bureaus, provincial state-owned cultural enterprises and the propaganda departments of the municipalities served as directors.

Under the direct leadership of the propaganda department of the provincial party committee, the think tank has formed a high-level academic committee and expert committee in accordance with the requirements of establishing a library with characteristics, opening up the library, developing the library with results and strengthening the library with innovation, focusing on Jiangsu issues, grasping the development dynamics, and doing a lot of work in advising the government, theoretical research, public opinion guidance, social services and international exchange. It has done a lot of work in political advice, theoretical research, public opinion guidance, social service and international exchange, etc. In the selection of the top 100 think tanks of universities organized by Nanjing University and Guangming Daily, it has been awarded A grade for many years.
